Money Mentor
Financial Planning

I have decided to close Money Mentor Financial Planning and retire this year (2008) so I am not accepting any new clients.  I will provide support to my current clients to help them update their plans and/or locate another planner through the end of June.

If you are looking for a financial planner, I recommend the following websites to help you with your search.

Garrett Planning Network (GPN) (www.garrettplanningnetwork.com) members provide fee-only, hourly, as-needed advice.  This is a great way to get financial advice because you are in control.  Most GPN members are CFP Practitioners who are also NAPFA and FPA members.

NAPFA (www.napfa.org) has some outstanding consumer information that you should read before you start your search for a financial planner.  NAPFA members are fee-only planners, but many do not provide hourly advice.  Most NAPFA members are CFP practitioners who are also FPA members.

Financial Planning Association (www.fpanet.org) has excellent consumer information on its website.  Its membership includes all types of planners who may use a fee-only or commission based business model, most are CFP practitioners, and all subscribe to a high degree of ethical conduct.

CFP Board of Standards (www.cfp-board.org) also has excellent consumer information.  It licenses financial planners who meet its standards -- see the website for details.

Best Wishes
